"Obito and Tobi have many similarities. They have the same hair style, the same colour of face accesory, the same personality and similarities of the spelling of the name. Some people think Obito's right eye was crushed but if it was by the boulder then I would also expect his brain to be crushed or damaged hard so he would not be able to speak. I put my hand on one side of my face. My hand touched the forehead first so that's why I would expect the boulder to give a brain damage. So if the boulder reached the eye and went deep enough to make the eye unusable I would expect the brain to be unusable too. But I'm guessing that the eye wasn't badly damaged the same for the brain but was still damaged a bit. The body was damaged too but it can probably heal. So the similarities for Obito and Tobi also are the right working eye.



Both of their reactions are very similar. They were both worried of dieing, when the battle just started.


Zetsu is from the Grass Village and Akatsuki wasn't probably born yet, so he was probably still in the Grass Village and has not betrayed it yet. So he probably discovered Obito but did not know his name yet. Mystery events happened then and Obito probably changed his name to Tobi for some weird reason. Maybe his name "Obito" would probably be recognise as part of the Uchiha and he probably didn't want that because it may give even more problems for him. Zetsu had raised Obito for some reason instead of just eat him.


It says something about holding a "grudge" against Kakashi. Maybe he regrets giving his Sharingan to Kakashi because he thought he would die but he lives. Obito joins Akatsuki as Tobi to find out about Kakashi because he probably got some information from Zetsu about the Kyuubi Bijuu and it's Jinchuriki (Naruto) and if they search for the Bijuu in Akatsuki, they may find the Jinchuriki's teacher/ally which is Kakashi.

I know, anything can be anything in Naruto if Kishi wants it to be but this is what I think of Obito and Tobi. So I may not be right, so don't assume that you think I'm saying that this "will" happen"

yep i have been thinking that for a while, i like the idea and think it would fit. big surprise for kakashi. the name is very close, and the other similarities all add up to be too much for a coincidence

Yeah, it couldn't be a coincidence that the hairstyle is the same, the same eye is out of use, the name.. But it might also be 'too obvious' and that's why it's not him but oh well. Only time will tell.

My brother says that obito and tobi arent one and the same people but I do. that shows that even brothers can think different but I'm not interested in that anymore because when the time comes it will be shown and we dont have definite evidences

Hah, I just noticed that there was a topic earlier long time ago made about this. Then I think this should be deleted or something.

I'm pretty certain that they are not the same person. First off Obito's entire right half of his body was crushed, not just his eye or his brain the entire half of his body and he was going to do shortly. And because of the fact that he was going to die he gave his left sharingan eye to kakashi as a present because kakashi's left eye was badly damaged (explains the scar on his eye).

And also from that manga pages you posted that happened before Obito was crushed under the rock, so how could you connect anything from that where he said the word "grudge" against kakashi if he hasn't been crushed yet or given his eye to kakashi. And ultimately Obito died as anyone would if half of your body was crushed under a huge boulder making it impossible for Tobi to be Obito. And finally when the 4th hokage said "dont bear a grudge against him" from that manga page (despite being obvious that the manga page itself is before Obito was crushed and is why he is still alive) kakashi doesnt have the scar over his left eye.

So whoever you said wrote that didn't bother thinking anything through enough at all because they are obviously not the same person.

ok so i decided to take the time to completely research obito and tobi to compare them. so im going to lay out some pros and cons about the whole tobi=obito theory and let you choose for yourself if tobi is obito or not.

Pro:

as you can see the rock doesnt seem to be fully crushing his right eye all the way meaning it may have still been in contact. BUT......

Con: if it did crush his right eye it seems HIGHLY unlikely he would be tobi because reviving and entire right body/face seems like a difficult and unlikely task to be done. Keep in mind that the rock did crush his entire right body which is quite hard to heal.

this pic shows that Tobi has some nuts and bolts on both his arms (i checked his other arm and it has nuts and bolts also) and his waist which could clue in that OBITO may have been technologiacally fixed.

Con: these nuts and bolts could just mean nothing and are just a part of his outfit and since there on both arms and not just his right one it could just mean nothing.

Pro: Many say that Tobi is immature and very playful just like Obito was and they have similar personalities.

Con: If Obito is Tobi then he would be 29 by now (i checked) and you would think he would have become more mature by now and act like an adult.

Pro: Although Obito would be 29 by now he could have suffered an injury to the head from the boulder that made him still think and act like a 13 year old.

Pro: Both Tobi and Obito have the same hairstyle and Tobi has a mask covering his whole face except his RIGHT eye. There names sound very alike which could all be a clue that Tobi is indeed Obito.

Con: Lot of people have spikey hair in naruto and it just could be a common coincidence that they both have spikey black hair. Kishi could just have wanted us to think it was Tobi was Obito by making the names so obviouly similar.

Pro: Many think that Zetsu found Obito and saved him and that is why Tobi was the subordinate of Zetsu when we first see him. While Obito was under the rock Zetsu could have just appeared with his ability to merge with rocks, ground, trees, etc. and saved him.

Con: FACE IT Obito died under the boulder and the cave broke in and he was crushed by all the rocks. Why would Zetsu be in that place anyway? It makes completely no sense and Zetsu doesnt seem like the type who would just save a random person out of the blue.

Obito didn't die even after the operation made by Rin and even after the boulders fell on him. Well, it will be a big surprise for Kakashi, very.
