well i know how to do private games! it goes like this:

in your adress bar copy/paste-

replace USERNAMEOFYOUROPPONENTHERE with the username of your opponent(your friend should be doing this also)
when it DOESNT say &completed=true&(it will be something along the lines of &private=found&completed)then its good(note your partner should also get this screen)

now, replace the previous link with naruto-arena(in other words, in your address bar,delete that link with your friends name, and type naruto-arena.com)
when youve reached arena, click start playing. you should be "attempting to enter current battle" i hope your friend is there too, or hes gonna miss a few turns(i reccomend instant messaging so you can check eachothers progress along the way)
after about ten seconds of attempting, you should be in! voila! a battle with your friend, no matter how different the rank!(no private battles dont give you wins losses, missions,streaks,or ranks increase, they are completey for fun)
if i am confusing i would be glad to clear some things up for anyone.
now go and play private battles!

This was method was used to do private battles at a time when there was no such thing as Naruto-Boards.com, an official private battle feature or even a "Private Battle" button in the game screen. Archived for greatness.

2. At the #naruto-arena channel, type-> !battle OPPUSERNAME
Remember to ask your desired opponent to do the same.
eg. i want to battle HeartofSword so i type-> !battle HeartofSword

3. Click on the link that appears. Remember to ask your desired opponent to do the same.
If i typed !battle HeartofSword, i should get a link that is like this:
http://www.naruto-arena.com/game/engine.php?type=private&username=HeartofSword

4. When you go to that url, you should get this message:
&private=found&completed=true&

If you don't get the message above and get this message instead, it means you are unsuccessful:
&completed=true&

5. Go to

and click on "Start Playing".
You should get this message, which means you are successful: Attempting to Connect

It works, but the battle afterwards is really weird, and you lose even if you're still alive. And it only says it doesn't affect ladder stats not missions.

if it affects missions, what we should do is have one person agree to lose and use all sound ninja so we can have people get the team leaders fast

id offer....if anyone wants to take me up on it...lol

just a note, that u won't automatically be in a battle unless you screw up, in which case you won't be able to fight with ur opponent anyway.

i really want asuma, so if anyone is willing to play as sound nin for a few rounds, i would definitly do it for them too

also I am pretty sure it doesn't count for missions =) lol, sorry to be a party pooper. Someone should check that out though.

After a bit of digging and trial and error turns out it doesn't actually work for missions.

Ahh...now I have to accually work for the missions. lol

welll private battles are official now so you dont need to use those steps
