Beginner's Guide - All beginners should read this |
|
 | | HeartofSword: I just added this section in after seeing that there are lots of people trying to trick beginners into giving them wins for free by using avatars with certain messages.
Therefore, beginners DO NOT press any of these during a game
- Alt + F4
- Ctrl + W
- F5
Pressing any of these buttons will cause your game window to close/refresh and cause you to lose your game
now, back to the basic guide |
In this thread we can post those general tips to help the new players understand how the game should be played. So, these are some I can think of right now:
1-If you have the chance to kill someone, do it. By killing an enemy your opponent will get 2 chakra instead of 3 each round (or 2 instead of 1 if he only had 2 characters left), so that will limit his movements.
2-Always try to know how many chakra you enemy has left. If you can know exactly the amount of chakra he has you will be able to anticipate his movements. This is a bit hard to do (specially at the beginning) but you can have an estimation. So when your turn starts, before doing anything check his characters to see if they used any skill on themselves. Then, check your life to try to calculate which skill he used to attack you if any.
3-Always think the worse. For example, if your enemy has only 2 chakra left asume that theyīre just of the type he needs to pull out the skill you fear most in that moment. Also if you followed the skills heīs used up to this moment you can make a probability estimation of the type of chakra he has. Example: if he just attacked you using Temari, itīs not very likely that heīll be able tu pull out a Desert Coffin+Desert Graveyard with Gaara in the next rounds, as all of these moves use Ninjutsu.
4-Be patient. This is one the keys to victory in NA: donīt rush to hit your enemy in the first rounds using all your chakra. Eventually, the player who starts dealing a lot of damage will get to a point where he doesnīt have enough chakra. Then, the enemy will counterattack and gain the upperhand for the rest of the match. Iīve seen a lot of times how the player who starts attacking recklessly in the first rounds is beaten badly in the 3rd or 4th and from then on he can only defend poorly ītill the end of the match when he looses.
5-Be cool. This is very very important. A lot of times, specially after you free from a stun, youīll have a lot of chakra accumulated and will throw in your best move without thinking too much. Donīt break rule #3 (Always think the worse) and calm down, take a moment to think what your opponentīs next move will be and then decide which move of yours fits best the situation.
6- Try to focus on one enemy at a time. Instead of just attacking whoever is open, choose a target and save your attacks for him. This way youīll be able to kill him in less time and once one is down your opponent will get less chakra and have to adapt his strategy (see rule #1). With time youīll learn how to identify your opponentīs key character, which will normally be the one you try to kill first. For the moment, just leave guys like Naruto or Sasuke for the end and start against Sakura, Gaara, Chouji, Shikamaru...
7-Always have the characterīs guide open. This way you can know things about your opponentīs team (effects and duration of attacks, chakra costs and cooldowns). Itīs very important to track the cooldowns of your opponent, so you can know which moves he can use regardless of the chakra he has. This is vital in 1VS1.
Can you think of anything else?

I don't agree with rule nš1:
There are many situations where killing is not the best option.
Remember something:
"Sometimes, the best attack is a good defense!" Too many newbies ignore the kawarimi 'coz its not "that" usefull
BTW, something else: Kawarimi will save your lifes thousands of times: don't use it senseless: wait for the good chance, wait for the good moment.. be patient.. and that's it!

ajaja yeh, I know... just wanted to state that rule nš1 is not always true and that you don't have to follow them as steps, but as a big ball, where everything is mixed.

Tip #1: Choosing your moves and chakara.
(note i wont be using the official attack names since it'll be better if the damage/effect is mentioned instead)
i was fighting against one opponent who used Lee, Gaara, Neji.
i was using Tenten, Shikamaru and Tenmari.
it came to the time when he opened Lee's gates and used Gaara to trap my Tenmari.
my opponents' characters all had 70hp except for Lee.
my Tenten, Shikamaru and Tenmari had 85hp, 65hp, 85hp respectively.
at that point of time, i had 2 green, 2 red, 2 blue & 1 white chakara.
so i decided that i would trap his Gaara and Neji with Shikamaru and used Tenten to deal a team 25dmg.
why? if he decided to kill my Tenten or Tenmari, his 2 other characters would be binded.
but what if he decided to kill my Shikamaru? wont the shadow bind be a waste? nope, it will free my Tenmari from Gaara's desert coffin. so it was a win-win situation.
what chakara did i choose to use in the menu? (after selecting the moves, i had 1 green, 1 red and 2 blue chakara.
i decided to use 1 red and 1 blue chakara. now why again?
(note that my opponent's characters would have 45hp after this turn.)
i expected him to kill my Shikamaru 1st (since he targeted Shikamaru 1st before) and i had no use for red chakara for the next few turns.
but why not conserve 2 blue chakara to be able to use dust wind later?
i was just ensuring that if he decides to kill my Tenmari or Tenten, at least my Tenten/Tenmari (the one not killed) can inflict another 20 or 25 dmg to Gaara and Neji.
and note, 45hp-> my Tenten's team 25dmg and Tenmari's team 20dmg will able to take them down later, if he kills my Shikamaru instead.
Tip #2: Don't be hasty and stun/disable your opponent's whole team whenever you can.
If you do so, don't plan what you are going to do when your opponent cannot do anything AND end up doing nothing for those turns, this is what will happen:
- your opponent just got 3 or 6 more chakara to throw at you. and he's going to use his best moves against you
- your opponent will be wanting to kill you off straight away
- you will have less chakara than your opponent since you used some to disable his team.
Tip #3: Consider when your opponent will disable your team for 2 turns.
i was fighting against one opponent who used Hinata, Shikamaru, Lee.
i was using Tenten, Shikamaru and Tenmari.
i binded his team for 2 turns and at the end of that 2 turns, i made my Tenmari invunerable.
why? i was expecting him to use his Shikamaru to bind my team and Lee to kill my team.
Tip#4: When to use jutsus that require your character to stay alive / remain unstunned.
Don't use those jutsus when you know your character will definitely be killed/stunned the next turn unless you only need the effect of your jutsu for just one turn. Why? If the jutsu has a long cool down and its effect is not used to its full potential, you are wasting it and you won't be able to use it for a long time.
Tip #5: Pray for luck.
Your luck can get really rotten sometimes. just a few minutes ago, i fought with an opponent using Tenten, Shikamaru and Tenmari. i didnt get green and blue for many turns of the game while i kept getting reds and whites so much so that i had 9 red and 2 white chakara... 3 turns after the opponent killed my Shikamaru.

jajaajaj yeah, check that :
Playing hinata-jiroubo-neji.. I did not get even 1 taijutsu during the whole game..
But somehow I won. Hinata's AOe, neji's AOE.. and jiroubo's stun plus kawarimi's! probably he wasn't very lucky either...

yo! come on,i have another tip to add,and this tip could b one of the most important one,and it is one of the most fatal mistake that players(including me)can ever make!!!:
dragon29125's way of ninja:DO NOT EVER THOUGHT OF WASTING SOME CHAKRA WHEN YOU KILL A ENEMY WITH PAETHTICALLY FEW HP
Example:Let's take Sasuke as a example of your chosen fighters...If now,Sasuke can finally Chidori(Which is causing 60 damages currently when I m typing...)and the other guys can't attack because of some reason lyk they do not have the chakra they nded or being stunned or even being dead, but out of the 2 opponents(the first one might have died or being invulnerable?)You have one opponent with 80 HP and another guy who has PATHETICALLY 10 or 20 HP....You knew that it is very pity for one CHIDORI to damage 10 HP only....On the other hand, the other opponent has 80 HP,and even if you hit him,he will be only leaving 20 HP....So HOW?
Solution:Do not ever think of wasting Chakra...Do not be too stingy...Let's see what will be the results when you chose to use Chidori against the 80HP enemy and 10HP enemy...
Chidori against 80 HP enemy-2 enemy would survive and hit you,and I can say the first they would target is SASUKE!!!You might DIE,especially Sasuke...In order to survive this situation,Luck is needed, but in this game,it is based more of STRATEGY,NOT LUCK!!!So the chance you would survive is 88 percent!!!
Chidori against 10 HP enemy-At least you will KILL one enemy...so you would have 1 opponent now(or 2 if another one was invulnerable juz now)...so it is harder to defeat you....
Imagine yourself as Sasuke...If you treat chakra as money, and you insist for being stingy, you will juz suffer....Once you get killed, your chakra will still be gone, too!!!STUPID!So why not use some chakra to kill enemy while you are alive,at least you know you have KILLED one enemy...which is better than letting 2 enemy survive, isnt it?
