considering that we've only seen a limited amount of Jiraiya's skills its difficult to say how he would fight Itachi, but he is a legendary sannin so i'd say its a safe bet to say he know alot of different kinds of jutsu and would probably be able to do really good without looking into Itachi's eyes. Kakashi is really the only one who would nee to look into Itachi's eyes so he could use his sharingan.

In the last manga's itachi is capable of doing kinda sharingan-illusions without eye-contact. It just needs high chakra ability control to free from those illusions.

which jiraya must have! It would be an interesting fight?

heheh yeah it would be a great fight.. coz if only ordinary juonins.. they will have a hard time to fight with itachi fighting him without luking.. xcept for gai coz he know how to fight by just luking to the feet only but i think he can stil be defeated byy itachi..

in kakashi's case.. of course he could luk coz he has his sharingan.. but it lessen hi vision coz.. he is just luking with one eye.. itachi can attack him in the right side were his eyes is close or better yet.. just use his mangekyu just wat lyk he did..

it would be one hell of a fight, hoepfully they have a fight later in the manga, but if they do i hope that it either comes to a draw of Itachi retreats before he is beaten because i want to see sasuke beat itachi and i couldn't handle it if jiraiya was killed by him. I'd die if that happened.

hehe.. itachi beaten..? i goes not.. only an uchiha can beat itachi no offense dude.. but the clan of uchiha is very power.. and only an uchiha also destroy it.. i had read something last night about sasuke having a chakra that is more poerful than the demon fox.. and maybe sasuke will inded fight with itachi to have his revenge.. in for jiraiya.. i dunno if they will come a time that they will fight coz theres no reason for both being involve in a fight oruchimaru maybe possible.. but if it will happen.. i will still go for itachi... and hope not to kill jiraiya.. so that u wont die also.. just kidding.. hehehe offense dude

hmmm and this explains why itachi is careful with jiraiya around...
(and i think thats the reason why itachi ran when jiraiya came to save naruto (in the main storyline where jiraiya summons the stomach wall thingy)

now im confuse.. if itachi can make magekyu without eye contact then he can do it to jiraiya without facing him..

remember that itachi had already use mangekyu to sasuke.. that means he has use great amount of chakra already.. of course in that state.. he is already underdog when it comes to chakra..

yqah i agree wit aero, u cant base your desicion of the battle on just one move...... i mean couldnt jiraiya jus summon gamabunta and have him jump on itachi and squash him...

i agree i think it will be an extremely close match..but after all kakashi,kurenai,and asuma where afraid of him because of his mangekyou sharingan..not to mention his other arsenal of techneques,remember he mastered the entire uchiha fighting style

I would be Itachi.
Jiraiya can't beat Orochimaru and Orochimaru is scared of Itachi.
thus i come to my olusion of Itachi being too much for Jiraiya
